Head Start’s 12th National Research Conference on Early Childhood Collaboration and Coordination: Understanding Systems Supporting Young Children and Their Families

7/7 − 9/14
Grand Hyatt Washington
Washington, DC

The Office of Planning, Research and Evaluation, with the Office of Head Start, is pleased to announce Head Start’s 12th National Research Conference on Early Childhood (HSRC12). It will be held July 7-9, 2014 at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, DC. This three-day event features plenary sessions, symposia, conversation hours, poster sessions, and informal events.

Recent shifts in early childhood services are the result of collaborations that strengthen early care and education at the local, state, and national levels. Successful integration and partnering of early childhood services are critical to advancing effective supports for young children and their families, especially for those most at risk.

HSRC12 Goals

The 2014 theme is collaboration, coordination, integration, and alignment of systems supporting young children and their families. The goals of the conference are to:

  • Identify and disseminate recent research around young children (birth to 8) and their families
  • Foster partnerships among researchers, practitioners, and policy makers
  • Consider research related to low-income families with young children
  • Examine service integration, coordination, and alignment
  • Showcase recent evaluations of practice and policy

Who Should Attend?

This conference will benefit an array of audience members, including: Head Start and Early Head Start program staff and home visitors; child care providers; and other early childhood programs.
